New IARBC Announcement

The IARBC (Iowa Association of Regular Baptist Churches) has a regular newsletter, and announced our call to Calvary Baptist Church, Walnut. Article It's the 2nd news item in the letter.

Having a rough vacation

Sure we're on vacation, but we've also had our share of trying times. We found out Saturday that the van will need some work (maybe a new water pump, replace the 6 spark plugs and replacement of the motor for the rear window wiper.) The good new is that we have a couple more days down here and Keith and Bill are working on it.

Also, sickness has been going around the house. Audrey was sick Friday as we traveled down here, but last night Mindy's mom came down with something. In fact, I did too...about 2am last night. I've not eaten much all day, but and on the upward swing I think. Mindy doesn't feel quite right, and her brother Nathan didn't go to college today because he also doesn't feel well. Keith, Mindy's dad is fine, as is Audrey. The rest of us are void of energy and life. Please pray that this goes away soon!

On Vacation

Yesterday we took a trip down to Mindy's parents house to visit them again. The last time we were there was for Christmas, 4 months ago. I think we intend to stay down here until Wednesday. Audrey didn't have a great trip yesterday (she threw up twice in the van) and has not been eating much since. She does seem to be acting normal, though. It's refreshing to be down here again.

Selling our House

We listed our house Tuesday of this week, and tomorrow night will be the first showing. A week from Saturday will be the first scheduled open house. Please pray for our house to sell. Here's the online listing for our house.

Announcing a New Van!

We decided it was time to invest in a "new" (new to us) van that we could count on and drive for years to come. Last week we bought this 2001 Chevy Venture van, it has 83,000 miles on it. We have a few weeks till license plates...we have to move before that!

Called to Calvary Baptist Church

We candidated last weekend at Calvary Baptist Church, Walnut IA and according to their constitution, they were to vote a week later (today). Also according to their constitution, a vote of 75% or greater would mean a call. We found out today that they voted 98% (40 yes, 1 no). There was some debate on the salary package, as some desired that our salary be higher.

We accepted, and look forward to May 6, our first Sunday of ministry. We intend to sell our home we currently live in and move in the week prior to May 6th. Please pray that this month of moving will go smoothly.

God certainly is gracious.
