Going to the Zoo (again)

We went to the Henry Doorly Zoo back on Friday, June 13, and really enjoyed it. However, we only saw 1/2 of it. Wednesday, July 2, we'll go back with some friends of ours, and hopefully see what we missed. You can read about the Zoo in Omaha at http://www.omahazoo.com/. We'll put some pictures up later...

Here's a map of the zoo:

College World Series Game

A week ago today (Monday, June 23) I took a group of guys to Omaha to see a college world series game. It was the first time at Rosenblatt Stadium, and my first College World Series game. It was the "final," with Fresno St. and Georgia playing. By the way - both of their mascots were Bulldogs. Georgia ended up winning 7-6, after scoring 4 in the 8th to take the lead. How did the World Series end up? Fresno St. won the next two games of the "Best of 3 Final."

Oh Bananas!!

The banana sticker reads, "Place sticker on forehead. Smile."
Of course, Audrey must comply. :)

Flood of 2008

Here is one block south of our house before and after. You can see the same houses. Our house did not even have water in the basement!!! Praise the Lord!!! People are setting out all their damaged stuff by the curb to be picked up. What a mess! Maybe someone will want to buy our house now. Staying dry during one of the worst floods would be a good selling point.

Flooding

Well, we just found out today that Mason City is experiencing flooding, and this article makes it clear that our house (we are selling) is probably affected. No, we have no insurance to cover it, as we just found out that our homeowner's policy expired because we haven't lived there for a year. However, reading through the policy, flooding isn't covered anyway.

The address is 814 N. Van Buren, just 1-2 blocks north of the houses mentioned in the article. Hmm.
