Flood of 2008

Here is one block south of our house before and after. You can see the same houses. Our house did not even have water in the basement!!! Praise the Lord!!! People are setting out all their damaged stuff by the curb to be picked up. What a mess! Maybe someone will want to buy our house now. Staying dry during one of the worst floods would be a good selling point.

Flooding

Well, we just found out today that Mason City is experiencing flooding, and this article makes it clear that our house (we are selling) is probably affected. No, we have no insurance to cover it, as we just found out that our homeowner's policy expired because we haven't lived there for a year. However, reading through the policy, flooding isn't covered anyway.

The address is 814 N. Van Buren, just 1-2 blocks north of the houses mentioned in the article. Hmm.

Petting Zoo

We had fun at the small petting zoo in Atlantic. They only have pygmy goats and llamas, but it was such a beautiful day and we had lots of fun!!!

Mother's Day Weekend

We went to visit Grandma Lillian on Saturday, May 10th, the day before Mother's Day. What a special visit!!!

Every single time we go, Audrey has to play with the bowl of rocks. Her and her rocks. She finds rocks to play with EVERYWHERE!!

Here we are playing Sequence. Notice, Mindy won two times in a row. :)

Audrey likes to "help" Mommy play the piano. The hymns were pretty, but were interspersed with random pounding notes and Audrey singing "Twinkle Little Star" at the top of her lungs.

Two cuties, just takin' a break.

One Year Down, __ to Go!

Wow, one full year of ministry. May 1, 2007, I was driving the big yellow Penske Moving truck we rented and came to Walnut, IA. It's been a tremendous year. It's gone quickly in my estimation, and has been very rewarding.

I'm learning a lot along the way. Like delegation. Sure, there's a lot I could do, but we have people just waiting to be asked to do something. How about discipline, there's much that needs to get done and it all falls on my shoulders, as the Pastor. I'm so thankful for Mindy - the perfect wife. Yeah, she's also an extraordinary mother, as well.

Visiting with people is a necessity, as our people need to know I care - more than just what I know.

I performed 1 wedding, 2 funerals, and 11 baptisms. I've spoken probably 150+ times on Sunday Mornings, Sunday Evenings, Wednesday Nights and other random services. I'm really enjoying serving the Lord full time.

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Paul in Philippians 4:13.
