Yep, it's true. I broke my ankle. Figured it was the thing to do around here, since two other people have already broken their ankles in our church. This way I can truly empathize with them in their pain and suffering. Oh, the lengths I will go to have a ministry to our members. Er.... something like that.
So, it was Saturday night and there was a blizzard going on outside. I was coming down the stairs with my hands full of stuff (because, as a Mom I can't seem to go up or down the stairs without carrying anything that needs to go up or down) and I was sooo enamored with looking out the window at the snow that I missed that last step. I have done that before and managed to catch myself but there was stuff in my hands and I guess I couldn't catch myself at all and just fell on my ankle really badly. After lying on the floor for a while and realizing that I was not, in fact, going to die, I got up and limped around. Instead of heading out in the snowstorm, I prescribed ice, Tylenol and rest.
Monday morning x-rays at the doctor's clinic revealed a chip fracture at the bottom of the fibula bone in my leg. So now I get to wear this beautiful boot on my leg for 4-6 weeks. Yeeha!
