The Third Time's the Charm??
Well, most of you know that when our fish tank broke, we decided to have a cat in the house instead. It would be a nice change and a cat could be loved, petted, and played with throughout the years. They are much more exciting than fish that just swim back and forth and eat.
We started out with a black kitten given to us that Audrey named Princess. After finding out this was indeed a boy, the name was changed to Boots. Kittens are frisky and this one was especially so and would scratch and bite the girls frequently. The last straw came when I watched the kitchen jump up and bite Abigail on the cheek twice. I just cannot willingly subject my innocent children to such abuse. We gave the cat to Melissa, and it has enjoyed a good life out on the acerage with her.
Next in line was another cat named Princess. This one was a girl about one year old and kind of a dusky calico color. She was very good with the children, very gentle and occasionally playful. The bummer was that she did not want to use the litter box. :( We tried all sorts of things in the two months that she lived with us. I did research and changed the litter and the box and the placement, but nothing worked. About once a day, one of us would be cleaning up kitty stuff and let me tell you, it smells bad. She would use the litter box a few times a day, but that was about it and we finally got tired of it and realized that it was not worth the trouble. Cats usually just do this on their own without having to be trained.
So.... Aaron and Audrey are on their way to Council Bluffs to return Princess and maybe (hopefully) find us another cat that will work out. So, third time's the charm right??
