Yesterday (Thursday) I talked with the interim Pastor at Walnut and learned that they put a bulletin insert in on Sunday with a Questionaire about me. It had a place for comments and whether or not they wanted me to candidate. The weather was very poor so there was only about 1/2 attendance...they are going to do it again this Sunday. If the thinking is favorable, we will be contacted next week about when we would like to candidate. The interim Pastor said he looked at the ballots and said there was no negative feedback, and all looked positive so far.
We'll see what happens.

Ministry Search Update #3
I spoke with the interim Pastor currently at Calvary Baptist in Walnut last Friday and learned that (1) I am the only man they are considering right now, (2) that this past Sunday either the deacons or the deacons/church would decide whether or not to have me candidate. If the consensus was positive, then they would check references. If the deacons are still in agreement, I would be invited to candidate.
It's Wednesday and I have yet to hear from them. This could mean 1 of 2 things: Either they didn't have church Sunday due to the weather and the meeting hasn't occured yet OR the consensus was positive and they are doing research about me. I assume that if the vote was not positive I would have heard by now. Who knows.
Thank you all for praying. We are open to His will, wherever it leads us.

Blizzard!
Check out what the weather report says...
Now
Blizzard Warning through Sunday afternoon... Moderate to occasionally heavy snow...mixed at times with sleet... will continue through mid evening. An increasing easterly wind will produce blowing and drifting snow...and reduce visibilities to near zero at times. Travel is not advised due to the treacherous Road conditions...as well as downed power lines and limbs.
Tonight
Cloudy...windy. Areas of blowing snow. Snow. Snow may be heavy at times in the evening. Snow accumulation of 8 to 9 inches. Low in the lower 20s. Northeast wind 20 to 30 mph with gusts to around 40 mph.
Sunday
Cloudy...breezy...snow. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Total snow accumulation of 10 to 13 inches. High in the upper 20s. North wind 15 to 25 mph.
I love the snow, but this is ridiculous. Spring is coming...eventually.

Ministry Search Update #2
Thank you all for praying, once again, for our future ministry. We have been trusting the Lord for direction—we need His wisdom.
Currently, we are in contact with 5 churches:
1. Calvary Baptist Church, Walnut IA. We filled pulpit this weekend (2/18/07) and had a wonderful time. This is a church of around 50-75 in a town of 900. Walnut is the Antique City of Iowa (as the road sign says). We met for an interview (interim Pastor, 3 deacons and me) in Ankeny on Sat. February 3rd. If they call us now and ask us to candidate we would accept the invitation and continue trusting the Lord to lead. All other churches would be on hold while we are looking to candidate—we don’t see it as a wise decision to candidate at numerous churches at the same time.
2. Pioneer Bible Baptist Church, Louisburg KS. This is just south of Kansas City less than ½ an hour. They are not in the GARBC, and I believe they are independent. I filled out a Questionnaire in January and sent it back. I have yet to hear back from them concerning their opening.
3. Calvary Baptist Church of the Northwoods, Seeley WI. I just heard from them last week, and I have already received a packet of information via the mail concerning their church. They did go through a split around 3 years ago, but do have a solid group of 33 members. They do have a new church building (within the last year or two).
4. Rockwell Baptist Church, Rockwell IA. We filled pulpit at this church in Nov. and Dec. of 2006, and we just received word tonight that their pastor had just resigned. He does intend to remain in the church—assisting the ministry—and he will continue to preach until the new pastor would come. This is an independent Baptist Church, but we really don’t know much about it.
5. Hallmark Independent Baptist Church, Enid OK. We have not heard from this church since Nov. 2006, but they are an independent Baptist Church. They are only 6 or 7 years old, and are already around 80+ members. I think that Enid is around 45,000 people. I did send a questionnaire to them last fall, but have yet to hear a response.
Thank you for praying…we are continuing to pray for God’s leading and wisdom. He alone knows where He wants us to serve. We are praying that God will prepare us for the church He has for us, and that He would prepare that church for us.
May God be glorified!

Ministry Search Update
Thank you all for praying, as of now we are in contact with 4 churches in 4 different states: New York, Oklahoma, Iowa and Kansas. Please pray for God's clear direction. A week from Sunday (Feb. 18th) I will preach both services at the church considering us in Iowa. If all goes well, we may candidate there as well. God bless!
